MBA Paid For Itself In Less Than A Year

Darrell Colvin '15

As the consumer loan coordinator for Greylock Federal Credit Union, Darrell Colvin '15 wanted to earn his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree to benefit his career trajectory. "I had reached a plateau," he said.

He decided upon MCLA, which allows students to earn the graduate degree in less than two years. That turned out to be an excellent decision.

Shifting Career Gears

Kaitlin Hallet '10

Inspired by a teacher during her sophomore year of high school, Kaitlin Hallet '10 decided to major in English and education. But after she graduated from MCLA, she decided to do something different, and used her English and teaching skills to transition into a career in finance. Today, she's a program manager at Fidelity Investments in Boston, Mass.

Through his work with the College and in his personal life, Chris Hantman '14 has long made a practice of being involved in the community in which he lives. Last summer, he took his dedication to that effort to the next level by becoming a "community action leader for North Adams."

Earns Master's from Harvard, Now at Dana-Farber

Alexandra Nichipor '12

After MCLA, and following a year in China to teach English, Alexandra Nichipor '12 went on to earn her master's degree from Harvard Divinity School. She recently accepted a position at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she's a research assistant for its Initiative on Health, Religion and Spirituality. 

Nichipor said her MCLA professors prepared her well for Harvard by holding her to a high standard and by promoting critical thinking.

Psychology Grad Head to Ireland for Master's

"My freshmen year I would have never imagined that I would be accepted into a top graduate school, and that I would travel halfway across the world to attend it," Ciempa said. "If I'd gone to another undergraduate school, I don't think I would have been given the countless opportunities that MCLA has provided me with."
